FEI was founded in 1996 in Swansea, Wales. From the start, FEI has specialised in the production of ready-to-eat rice. FEI has developed a unique process to produce light, fluffy rice which does not stick together in the pouches, which is important for consumers.
FEI is now the UK market leader for private label. Its clients include the majority of major British retailers.
marbour acquired FEI in October 2010 to strengthen its position in the growing ready-to-eat rice market and become one of the leading players in Europe, in partnership with its other subsidiary, Inariz.
